Travel Story «Invercargill - where are we now?»

New Zealand | 0 Comments 04 March 2006 - Last Update 05 May 2006

Back to the urban centre of the Deep South, Invercargill.
and this felt good. Invercargill is NZ southernmost city but what kind of a city.
anybody been there?
Let us tell you this. Every NZ city (except Dunedin, which is unique!) has the same pattern. Grid system, shop lay-out, industrial architecture and some nice Art-Deco and Victorian archi left overs. But generally lack of athmosphere. We both agree that Invercargill is a very unattractive place. For us this is the gateway to fjordland and a major stop at Pak 'n Save (the NZ equivalent for Tesco).
Back on the road!
