So I arrived in Perth Sunday 31st April to an enthusiastic welcome from the ladies all be it helped by one of Cottesloes famous or shoud that be infamous Sunday Sessions. So for the rest of the week we decided to do a bit of travelling down the west coast of oz as our time in Perth was limited and according to the locals this was where all the best wineries in Austrailia were located. You understand this was secondary to our interest in the, wait let me think.. oh yes scenery and stuff !!! We organised two campervans ( apparently that is what they call hiace vans here). So five classy birds and two campervans, Mister Hard and Skulls hit the road Tuesday morning making our first stop off at Margaret River which would you believe it is a famous wine area. Fate !!! This place is the closest thing to heaven any wine drinker could find. The girls may have found there spritual home in the Temples of Thailand I found mine here. The whole area produces 23% of Austrailia premium wines and as we are premium ladies it only makes sense that would would do the tour. To summerise a fantastic day, 4 Winerys ( tastings in all), 1 Brewery ( Where shockingly we struggled !) 1 cheese factory and 1 chocolate factory. No this was not a one day knock Tour. So we are know experts and as such are putting our skills to good use minus the spitting !
After recovering from Margaret River we made our way further South stopping off for lttle adventures including a tree top walk and a third of a 60ft tree climb much to the loss of bragging rights. ( I blamed the ladder not the fear ) Our journey South ended in Albany. All in all a beautiful part of the country and well worth the humilliation of the campervans !!!
So back to Perth to do a "walking Tour" Please note family and friends of Lorna and Emily do not be fools like me and Gra. Never follow them around a city blindly or give them control of a map. So the walking tour turned into an expedition but in fairness to the girls we did get to see most of the sights Perth has to offer.
Its a friendly city with a homely feel and easy access to great beaches and i would advise anybody to stop off if in the area. So next stop Adelaide and a few silent prayers that there will be the odd winery tour there to.
