Tuesday night saw my work crew (a.k.a. The Citigroupers) and Una and Lorna (the hangers on) visit The Minus 5 Bar in Sydney up by the Opera House. Everything in the place was made of Ice - even the glasses we were drinking out of - hence the name.
We were kitted out in Eskimo gear (not the most fashionable clothing but there you have it) which included TWO pairs of gloves and Ugg boots for women with unsuitable footwear. After entering the cold room (which was approx -6oC) to acclimatise before entering the bar (which was actually -18oC) we ventured inside (although it felt like outside) for our 30 minutes of chillin' out (pun intended!) following a warning that anything we break we pay for. Slightly nervous that our clumsiness could cost us a few grand we trod around carefully grasping our slippy glasses with two hands lest the priceless glasses fell to their death and smashed to smithereens....(it is only frozen water after all - I know there is a drought on over here but still, things aren't that bad.... are they?!)
After 30 minutes and 30 million photos (Una hates me) we were ushered out and stripped!
OK, not stripped, but we had to give the lovely warm jackets back. We could have done with them in Tasmania this weekend it was that cold, but that's another story for another time and a different author.
