Travel Story «Montenegro - the new luxury holiday resort»

Hi All,

this is for Montenegro, but they don´t have that place in this website. So I took the neighbour and they might change it later.
Anyway sweethearts, there is not much to tell for the simple fact that we only stayed one day. Apparently they Montenegrins decided to turn their country into this luxury holiday destination. It is not like there is anything so superspecial there, they just put the prices up like mad. And if you don´t seem to be superrich, they dont make you feel very welcome.
Apart from that it seems very beautiful, at least according to the brochures you can buy for outrageous prices, nothing is for free there. And all is in Euro. Montenegro adopted the Euro as their official currency and is hereby the only Euro country outside the Eurozone.

We took the bus to a little place called Kotor, whose little harbour sports yachts from all over the world. The old part of the town is a very beatiful maze of stonehouses guarded by a castle on a hill right behind the town. The old part is very well renovated, whereas around it the houses are falling apart (all the way along the road we could see that phenomenon. Old houses falling apart, new fancy holiday apartments being built next to them). I didnt write news from there because in the internet place in town (an English Pub run by a local, who very obviously loved Coldplay - the only music that was on), a couple was having a wrestling match behind us, which was worryingly violent. It that was serious or (fore)play we´re not sure.

So, considering the prices of everything, we changed our plans from taking a car for a day and leaving after 2 days to leaving the next day and heading for Dubrovnik, a little gem in the most southern part of Croatia.
