Travel Story «Munich!»

so last week a wrote a story and forgot to post it.... sorry!

Germania! If I thought i was in love with Venice, then Munich is my soul mate! They say it is the most Italian city in germany, and i think its just the right blend! No matter how  familiar i become with florence or how much my italian improves, I just don't feel completely at home in Florence.  But in 20 minutes of stepping off the train in Munich I realized just how much german I had forgotten and how much the city fits me!

My train got in at 6.30am, i dropped my bag off at the hostel, grabbed some coffe at yee ol' starbuks and went exploring! I walked trhough the city center and realized that the streets were clean, the cars were parked neatly, the sidewalks were wide and divided between pedestrians and bikers, and the city had some sembalance of a grid plan! It was just enough in order to satisfy my OCD but still very relaxed! after a morning of exploring i took a quick nap, visited a Kandinsky exibit for super cheap, and went to eat!

Germany makes me wonder why I was ever a vegitarian!  How could I have ever said no to something as wonderful as a wurst, or a shnitzzel? I have rediscovered pork and I don't know how I'll go back!  We stumbled upon the best beer house (and the cheapest!) in Munich our first night! Every one was eating, laughing, singing, sharing tables, and we were the only americans there! The best part was, they were ok with that! People said hi, tried to talk to me in German, gave up and went back to english, helped us with the menus, and were just really friendly!

The next day we cought an early train (I succesfuly got directions in German!) and went to to Fussen to see the castel that inspired cinderella's castel! It was so georgeous! We poped out in a cute little bavarian town, walked about three miles through the country side, and ended up at the front door of a castel! I don't know what to say other then I went to cinderella's castel! we took the train home at 5 and had another huge meal of meat for super cheap!

Or last day in Munich might have been the best! Our hostel offered a free tour of the city (the guide worked for tips). We got lucky to have the coolest guide ever! Half german, half dominican, a black guy in leder housen! He took us all around the city and at the end offered to go to lunch with just my frineds and I and show us around some more.  we went back to the first restrant (which we found out was the best) had lunch, then went to see an exhibit on how disney was so inspired by German art and culture.  After the gallery, Ausi, our guide, showed us to a great bar by the train station and had a few beers with us untill it was time for us to hop back onto the train.  everyone says to be careful who you talk to and who you spend your time with, but we just meet friendly bavarians that wanted to show us how amazing their city is!

By the way madre, the germans take their dogs everywhere with them, some even go to work!

still in a state of meat induced euforia!

Steph!
